When I started Ornery Olive Charcuterie Co., I knew I was building something special—a business that would bring people together through beautifully crafted culinary experiences. What I didn't expect was how much the journey itself would transform me. Recently, I had the incredible honor of being featured in Boss Babes Magazine, and the experience reminded me why representation, visibility, and celebrating driven women matters so much.
The Boss Babes Experience
From the moment I walked into Rachel Sorbet Photography's studio, I knew I was in expert hands. Rachel and her entire team were nothing short of exceptional—professional, organized, timely, and deeply committed to bringing out the best in every client. There's something truly empowering about working with a team that sees your vision and elevates it.
The photoshoot wasn't just about capturing images; it was about capturing the essence of what Ornery Olive represents. Rachel's creative direction and confidence throughout the session made me feel like the CEO I am. Her team moved seamlessly through every setup, offering guidance on posing, lighting, and styling while making the entire experience feel effortless. The energy in that studio was electric—women supporting women, creating art, and celebrating entrepreneurship.
Why This Matters
Being featured in Boss Babes Magazine is about more than beautiful photos (though they are stunning!). It's about being part of a community of women who refuse to play small. Women who build businesses, take risks, and show up fully in their purpose.
As the founder of Ornery Olive, I pour my heart into every charcuterie board, every corporate event, every detail that makes our clients' experiences memorable. This feature is a reminder that the work matters—not just the product we create, but the passion behind it, the standards we hold, and the relationships we build.
A Sweet Ending
One of my favorite moments from the shoot? After we wrapped, Rachel and her team enjoyed one of our signature charcuterie boards. Watching them experience the artistry and care we put into every board was the perfect full-circle moment. Food brings people together, and that day, it brought together two women-owned businesses celebrating each other's craft.
What Being a Driven Woman Means to Me
Being a driven woman in business isn't always easy. It means late nights perfecting recipes, early mornings prepping orders, and constantly pushing yourself to deliver excellence. It means handling rejection, adapting to challenges, and learning to trust your instincts even when the path isn't clear.
But it also means freedom. The freedom to create on my own terms. The freedom to build something that reflects my values. The freedom to show my daughter what's possible when you work hard and believe in yourself.
Ornery Olive is more than a charcuterie company—it's a testament to what happens when you combine passion with persistence. And being recognized in Boss Babes Magazine is a milestone that reminds me to keep going, keep growing, and keep lifting other women as I climb.
